Imagine driving on your local highway. Do you know how fast you are going? Are you speeding, or are you going too slowly? You look at your speedometer, you check your fluid levels, and you watch your bank statements. All of these are forms of measurement.
Utility metering is the energy measurement of your facility. Many businesses and facilities are operating like someone without a speedometer in their car. Without being able to measure what they are using they have no way to identify how much energy they use. In some cases they might know how much energy they are using, but not exactly when they are using it. In many cases they have no way of measuring their use and no way of knowing what to use to measure it.
